I and 6 other University at Buffalo students went to Costa Rica through the UB study abroad program. This specific program was focused on sustainable design. Another group of 7 students from the University of Maryland who are landscape architects also were a part of the program. As a group of 14 we collaborated on the design of a field station and a play space in San Luis. I was on the design team for the field station and also a part of the construction team of the play space. In those amazing 10 weeks I learned a lot about sustainability, the culture and climate of Costa Rica, designed a field station and constructed a really fun play space for the town of San Luis.
